What does it take to be successful in the enterprise IoT space? Meeting the needs of the enterprise is not an easy undertaking for IoT CSPs. Enterprise needs are wide and varied. They point to the need for a CSP to develop an approach that spans multiple elements of an enterprise’s requirements.
TecFutures asked the views of 75 IoT CSPs to rank 18 attributes of their enterprise offer on a scale of 1 to 5 for importance (with 5 being highest).
The two most important elements for an Enterprise are:
· flexibility to change suppliers
· guidance through the design, build and implement process and specific offerings for SMEs.
Other attributes to note include:
· Recommendations from other enterprises
· First class customer support
· Systems integration capability
· Value added services beyond connectivity
Looking at the other extreme – flexibility around charging models, being present in a local market and demonstrable case studies appeared in the bottom three. IoT suppliers need to focus on what is important to an enterprise and reflect these attributes in their overall approach.
